A woman suspected of shaking a baby in a nursery in Evergem has been placed under arrest warrant,

the East Flanders prosecutor’s office said Monday.

The prosecutor’s office put the case under investigation last weekend. On Thursday, a baby with symptoms of the shaken baby was admitted to AZ Sint-Lucas before being transferred to UZ Ghent. A man and a woman were arrested. The man was presented Sunday before the investigating judge who left him free under conditions. The woman was placed under arrest after her appearance on Monday. She may request release in private within five days.
